Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez was a Deadline Day target for Manchester City but the deal didn’t was futile and their manager Pep Guardiola spoke about the Arsenal player at his press conference today.
“I don’t know what’s going to happen in winter time and next season [Sanchez is out of contract]. Of course he’s an Arsenal player now,” Man City boss Pep Guardiola said.
“I don’t know what’s going to happen. Of course we were interested in him but at the end Arsenal decided not to sell him. [I wish] Alexis all the best for the season.
“I know him from Barcelona and that’s all. Sometimes the deals work and sometimes they don’t.”
‘When we started to speak with Arsenal in the last days, they wanted to make a swap with Raz [Raheem Sterling],’ said Guardiola
‘They talked to me and I said ‘no chance. zero chance. Not one per cent chance we will swap Raz because i trust a lot in him’.
‘Twenty-two years old, English player, there is a lot of room to improve.’
